Rhythmic Gymnastics

Rhythmic Gymnastics helps gymnasts develop strength, flexibility, and artistry. This program is designed to teach all levels of basic rhythmic gymnastics skills as well as individual and group routines. Rhythmic Gymnastics is a judged sport and events include: rope, hoop, ribbon, club and ball techniques are included.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of gear and equipment do I need to have for practice?

For practice:
Athletic clothing, water bottle.

For competition:
Gymnasts should wear a leotard or unitard, any colour. Typically, leotards/unitards are provided by the affiliate for competition. Long tights (down to the ankle) may be worn. Bare feet, gymnastics slippers or rhythmic half-slippers are acceptable. Hairstyles should be neat. No jewelry is allowed.

Do you need experience to participate in this sport?

No! All new and returning athletes are welcome to participate and compete in this sport. 

What types of competitions are there?

There are level A, B and C routines. Level A routines are compulsory routines are performed seated. Level B routines are compulsory routines that are performance seated. Level C routines are compulsory routines that are performed standing. Group routines are compulsory routines designed for teams of athletes, who may be of any level.

What happens if there is inclement weather?

Weather cancellations are determined on the day of the program. If severe weather is forecasted during program time, the program will typically be cancelled (snowstorms, extreme cold warnings, etc.)
